Today, 21st March, the government has announced Spring Boosters for the following groups:
- adults aged 75 years and over
- residents in a care home for older adults
- individuals aged 12 years and over who are immunosuppressed, or have weakened immune systems
All patients will need to be six months after their previous dose to be eligible.
Up until now, we have been vaccinating at Fitznells Manor Surgery’s Vaccination Hub all age groups. However, after almost 32,000 vaccinations since January 2021, we have decided that we will not continue to undertake Covid vaccinations in the Hub, with our last vaccination day 29th March for those that are still outstanding any of their primary doses, or their first Booster. This will be so that we can focus on delivering GP services to our ICP patients. There are many pharmacies in and around Epsom and Ewell, as well as the Covid vaccination service based at Nescot who will be continuing with vaccinations, so alternate travel distance should be minimal.
In order to book your Spring Booster, please do contact the National Booking Service – either by calling 119 or by booking online at: www.digital.nhs.uk/coronavirus/vaccinations/national-booking-service
We will, however, continue to undertake the Spring Booster to those that are housebound or are older residents in care homes and will be arranging visits by our Paramedics or GPs, once those specific patients become eligible.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our GP and Admin staff, volunteer vaccinators and marshals who have helped us deliver this huge undertaking over the last 14 months. Thank you.
