Following the announcement this week that 45 – 49 year olds are now eligible for their Covid vaccination, we wanted to communicate where we are regarding our vaccinating schedule and how this affects those waiting.
Since 15th January 2021 we have vaccinated almost 15,000 patients in Cohorts 1 – 9, of which 4,000 are second doses, carried out in the last two weeks. We are immensely proud of being able to provide this service to our patients and we will continue to vaccinate patients into the coming months until all patients over 18 have had both doses.
With this in mind, and following government direction, the prioritisation of vaccinations is as follows:-
- First doses to those patients in Cohorts 1 – 9
- Second doses to those patients in Cohorts 1 – 9
- First doses to those patients 45 – 49 years old (Cohort 10)
To allow us to focus our efforts and resources on the first two priorities to quickly reach the third, we do ask the help of those patients waiting for their vaccination to wait until we contact you with an invitation. Whilst you are waiting, do make sure that your contact details (mobile preferably and / or landline) are up to date as we may contact you directly with little notice. You may also be contacted by other vaccinating bodies, and you are welcome to either wait for your turn at Fitznells Manor Surgery, ICP or attend elsewhere, your medical record will be updated with the vaccination, regardless of where it is undertaken.
Thank you to all our volunteers and staff for helping achieve this landmark delivery, and the next step to welcoming our patients back to the surgeries.
